Chores and the allowance board

Chores are how you build the allowance between knocks. The board in the living room shows four tasks at a time. Clearing the set refreshes it. A July 30, 2026 note says Update 2 added chores, so the pool can change again.

Reported targets

Source date Target written
July 25, 2026 $180
Late July and early August 2026 $160

Both numbers are from guides, not from a single developer line. The parent only says to earn the allowance before 6:00 AM. Use the number on your board.

Where the nine reported jobs start

Locations below come from July 31, 2026 walkthroughs.

  • Clean Your Room. First room on the left in the hallway. Put toys in the toy box.
  • Clean Your Parents' Room. End of that hallway. Put clothes from the floor and bed into the laundry basket.
  • Make Coffee. Coffee packet or box on the kitchen island goes into the maker by the sink. Hold the needle in the green zone.
  • Cook Tomorrow's Lunch. Fill the pasta pan, put it on the stove, hold the green zone, then put the lunch in the fridge.
  • Do the Dishes. Plates appear on the kitchen island. Wash them one by one.
  • Clean the Kitchen. Squirt bottle on the island. Clean the stains.
  • Clear Spider Webs. Webs are in the doorways. Hold the interaction.
  • Clean the Windows. Living room and hall windows. Scrub each one.
  • Water the Plants. Watering can is under the window to the right of the front door. One walkthrough counted three plants in the living room, one in the hallway, and two in the bathroom.

Group kitchen jobs together and bedroom jobs together. A knock outranks a green-zone timer. Confirm the cash number changed before you leave the task. One play video shows the board can be reset to take more jobs; treat that as something to look for on the board, not as a guaranteed extra payout.

Correct door decisions are also reported to pay allowance. Skipping every chore is how the low-money ending is reached, not how a normal clear is reached.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What should I do when someone knocks?

Look through the front-door glass, listen to the whole request, then check the laptop cameras, including night vision when the tell needs it. Open only when the check matches a safe visitor. If the sign of an anomaly is there, turn the porch light off with the switch to the right of the door.

Is every visitor both real and an anomaly?

Most early visitors have a reported safe form and an anomalous form. The Vampire has no documented safe form, so the repeated instruction is to refuse him. The Next Door Neighbour is reported the other way: refusing her makes her smash the camera that watches the car.

How much allowance do I need?

Read the living-room board in the current night. A July 25, 2026 guide reported a $180 target, while late-July and early-August guides reported $160. The parent dialogue only says to earn the allowance before 6 AM. Do not memorize one number across updates.

Does the Goblin Stalker end the night?

No. The small pale goblin is a house jumpscare, not a door visitor. Guides say it cannot harm you or drain Sanity during a normal night. It does appear in the zero-Sanity ending montage.

Are there working codes?

No code string was found, and none of the captured developer notes through Update 11 lists a redeem box. Whether a code button exists at all is still unconfirmed.
